2010 Husaberg FX 450 Top Triple Clamp Bolts

Initial Information:

» Through continual product monitoring and market feedback, Husaberg has found on

some 2010 FX450s the incorrect length top triple clamp bolts may be installed.

Some units may have M8 x 35 HH collar bolts installed, whereas the correct size is

M8 x 40 HH, part number 0025080406.

» The M8 x 35 HH collar bolts that may be found to be installed do not cause any risk or

present danger as long as the proper assembly torque of 17Nm has been used.

NOTE: This Technical Bulletin only affects certain VIN numbers! Please check the VIN by

performing a Motorcycle History search in Husaberg Dealer.net to determine if it’s affected. If

the motorcycle is affected you will see a link to the bulletin and its repair status in the history

results. Husaberg North America will not warranty units whose VIN numbers are not linked to

this bulletin as it does not apply to them. It is the responsibility of the dealer to determine if

the unit requires this update by checking the vehicle history.

Procedure for Repair:

» To identify the incorrect length bolts, the end of the bolt threads will not reach flush

with the tapped triple clamp thread (Pic.1). If the correct length bolt is installed, the

bolt threads will be flush with the triple clamp thread (Pic.2). If needed replace the

bolts with the correctly sized M8 x 40 HH. Please attach a photo showing the bolts

and frame VIN ready for the warranty claim if the bolts need replaced.
