Hi,

I have a 2008 KTM 990 Adventure and need to get sprockets (front and
rear) and chain for it. Question is: Will any 525 Chain work with the
correct sprockets? It seems that most chains I've found via the
internet will specify that they are for a particular bike, but I'm
thinking that any 525 Chain (the size spec'd for my bike) should work on
the correct sprockets. Could you please enlighten me on this subject?

Also....do you know if the spindles on the front sprocket common to the
KTM bikes is sized differently then most other bikes, therefore causing
one to get a KTM specific front sprocket? Or are they just playing the
buy my more expensive KTM Sprocket game?

And... what about their rear sprocket and it's bolt pattern? Does that
configuration also make it KTM specific or is the game just being played
again?

Thanks for the inquiry. Yes, any 525 chain will work, as long as it is cut to the proper length. I recommend our DID 525 X-Ring:
