After finishing second in the first round of the National Enduro series I was excited to get the GNCC series started. I got a decent start, going into the woods about 7th. I followed Jason Thomas for the first couple miles getting up to the top 4 riders. I was going 3rd gear down a straightaway when I hit some big breaking bumps flipping me down into a deep mud hole. I went head first into the water and mud covering my bike and me. I got up and while trying to get out I got stuck going in the wrong direction. I finished the first lap without goggles; getting a ton of dust in my eyes and face. I stopped in my pits for a while getting myself together. After completing the 2nd lap I was 13th in XC-2 and 38th overall. I put my head down and charged for the rest of the race. Going into the last lap I was 1:24 behind 5th place so I pushed hard to try to catch him. With about 4 turns to go I caught 5th place but I couldn’t get around him. With everything that happened I am happy with getting 6th in XC-2 and 14th overall. I am excited for the GNCC in GA this weekend to show I can improve my result!
